- Izvestia showed the Assalouye region, which is economically and energetically important for Iran
One of the energy and economic centers of Iran, the Assalouye industrial district, which is located near the city of the same name in the south of the republic and where the large South Pars and Khayyam gas fields are located, has been hit since the first days of the war, which violated international norms and protocols. Izvestia showed exclusive footage of the area on April 8.
Correspondent Nasser Ashkeri noted that the industrial area has become a priority target of the US attacks, as it is one of the main centers of production and profit of the republic. According to him, these attacks on petrochemical plants violate international norms and protocols, therefore they may entail an equally harsh response from Iran.
"The countries that actually provided their territory to the United States to launch attacks on Iran from their territory are actually playing on the side of the United States, and all American targets and infrastructure in these countries — such as Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates — are considered legitimate targets for the Islamic Republic of Iran," Ashkeri said..
In turn, the governor of Assalouye, Eskandar Pasalar, in a dialogue with a correspondent, noted that the population of the area began to come out and is still taking to the streets to support the Iranian armed forces that protect the Strait of Hormuz. He also added that the government takes care of citizens and tries to prevent a humanitarian catastrophe by providing people with basic goods.
"In Bushehr province, as in all regions of the country, thanks to the measures taken in advance, as this is one of the points of entry of goods, the main goods were imported on time and distributed to various regions of the country. This can have a positive impact on the market," Pasalar said.
The journalist recalled Iran's position that anyone who does not comply with the established rules and the new regime will not actually be able to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. According to him, the attack on Asaluye and the impact on the area open up a new stage of the war and make it more difficult.
"This is the coast of the Persian Gulf, and for enemies and those who undermine security, it will no longer be safe — this has been officially announced. <...> Iran and its armed forces will fulfill everything they promised," Ashkeri stressed.
On the same day, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, commenting on the ceasefire between the United States and the Islamic Republic, said that the approach of an aggressive, unprovoked attack on Iran had failed.
Republican Congressman Chris Murphy said on April 7 that the terms of the truce between Washington and Tehran were a disaster. He also expressed doubts about the authenticity of the terms of the truce, pointing out that Washington and Tehran interpret the provisions of the deal differently.
