FSB officers detained a Russian citizen on suspicion of treason, recruited by the Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, who transmitted information about the locations of military personnel and coordinated a missile attack on a railway ferry in the port of Kavkaz. This was announced on April 8 by the FSB's Public Relations Center.

"The Federal Security Service has detained an agent of the Ukrainian special services who was collecting information about the locations of Russian Armed Forces facilities on the territory of the Crimean Peninsula," the agency said.

According to the FSB, a 25-year-old resident of the Simferopol district of the Republic of Crimea contacted an employee of the Ukrainian special services via Telegram. On assignment, the woman arrived in the area of the Crimean Bridge, where she coordinated a missile attack on a freight railway ferry in the port of Kavkaz (Krasnodar Territory).

"For these actions, the Crimean woman received remuneration from the Ukrainian special services by transferring funds to her crypto wallet," the FSB added.

On April 7, law enforcement agencies reported that law enforcement officers in St. Petersburg had detained a 57-year-old man who, on the instructions of Ukrainian curators, retrieved a package with explosives from a cache. It was clarified that the man agreed to confidential cooperation with representatives of the special services of Ukraine at the request of his acquaintance from Dnepropetrovsk.

A criminal case has been opened against the detainee under seven articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The list of charges included high treason, preparation for sabotage and illegal trafficking of explosives.
