Iran and Oman will be able to charge fees for the passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz during the two-week truce. This was reported on April 8 by the Associated Press (AP), citing sources.

"According to the two—week ceasefire plan, Iran and Oman will be able to charge fees for the passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz, the narrow mouth of the Persian Gulf," the publication says.

It is specified that Tehran intends to send the collected funds for restoration.

On April 7, US President Donald Trump announced that he had agreed to suspend strikes on Iran for another two weeks. He also explained that the condition for this was the complete unblocking of the Strait of Hormuz, and Tehran would fulfill this. The head of the White House said that the United States had received a 10-point proposal from Iran to resolve the conflict. Washington is ready to continue working on its basis.

Later, the SNN TV channel, citing an order from the Supreme leader of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, reported that negotiations between the United States and Iran on working out the terms of a peace agreement would be held in Islamabad.
