Units of unmanned systems (UAVs) of the Zapad group of forces of the Russian Armed Forces (AF) using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the Molniya-2 aircraft type attacked the drone control center and manpower of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Krasnolimansk area in the area of a special military operation (SVO). This was announced on April 8 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

UAV crews are on round-the-clock combat duty and perform tasks regardless of weather conditions, regularly using attack drones to hit targets. Military personnel of the 37th Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 25th Combined Arms Army, during aerial reconnaissance, identified a camouflaged control point for UAVs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine located in a wooded area. It was established that this facility provided flight coordination for R-18 type UAVs used to strike Russian military positions and infrastructure facilities.

"The UAV control center was worked out. <...> Burned down. Control points are the best target because there are many more of them than vehicles, and they cause more damage," said the squad commander with the call sign Angel.

After receiving the instructions, the crew began to carry out the combat mission. Pre-flight preparation of the vehicle was carried out, including the assembly of the structure and equipping it with a high-explosive fragmentation warhead. Upon completion of the checks, the operator launched the drone.

Despite the enemy's opposition to electronic warfare, the target was successfully hit. According to intelligence data, the facility was completely destroyed, which led to a decrease in the capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to conduct reconnaissance and strike at this site.

It is noted that the use of Molniya-2 complexes ensures effective destruction of targets, including in the depth of enemy defenses, due to their resistance to electronic warfare and high survivability.
