Moscow hospitals have started using delivery robots in a pilot mode to transport medicines and blood samples, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said in the MAX messenger.

Robot couriers are being tested at O.M. Filatov State Design Bureau No. 15 and N.I. Pirogov State Design Bureau No. 1. They shuttle between buildings, delivering biomaterial samples and supplies to the laboratory. They can also take medicines from the pharmacy at the hospital to the department.

Robots independently build a route, avoid obstacles and deliver cargo in any weather. Hospital staff have been trained in their use — delivery can be controlled using a smartphone.

As Sobyanin emphasized, the main goal of the project is to speed up logistics inside the hospital, which "will allow medical workers to devote more time to patients."

Earlier, the mayor said that in one of the laboratories of the Moscow Scientific and Practical Laboratory Research Center, a courier robot is being tested, which transports up to 800 vials per cycle.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
