- The Ministry of Construction reported on measures to improve electricity supply in Dagestan after an emergency
The Ministry of Construction is taking measures to improve electricity supply in Dagestan after floods. This was announced on April 7 by the head of the department Irek Fayzullin.
"Work is underway in this direction, and we will take additional measures," he said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
According to Fayzullin, organizational and methodological support is provided. He also noted that in addition to housing, energy and transport infrastructure, communal and socio-cultural facilities were affected.
The head of the Ministry of Construction thanked the rescuers, power engineers, transport workers, utilities, the regional team and volunteers for well-coordinated cooperation.
He stressed that the agency faces the task of organizing an inspection of the entire damaged infrastructure. In parallel, the issue of providing social support measures to citizens whose living quarters have been lost or damaged is being worked out.
In turn, the head of the Ministry of Transport, Andrey Nikitin, reported that aviation, water transport and federal roads were not affected. Damage was caused to regional and municipal roads, as well as railway facilities. Putin also instructed the Ministry of Transport to help Dagestan in restoring the transport infrastructure affected by the floods.
"It will be necessary to help the republic without fail, they themselves will not be able to cope with even that small amount, it will be difficult for them to do it," Putin said.
During the meeting, Putin said that flood victims in Dagestan should receive all necessary support. He also instructed to keep flood consequences under control, including the epidemiological and sanitary situation in the affected areas.
Due to heavy rainfall on April 5, the Gedzhukhsky reservoir overflowed in Dagestan. In this regard, the earthen rampart was breached. At the same time, in the Derbent district of Dagestan, more than 4 thousand people were evacuated in four settlements due to a dam break.
