Britain has banned American rapper Kanye West (also known as Ye) from entering the country to participate in the Wireless Festival amid outrage over his anti-Semitic remarks. This was reported by the Politico newspaper on April 7, citing a source in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the kingdom.

"The government has blocked West's entry permit, and he does not have a valid ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization, an online simplified entry permit system). The decision was made on the grounds that his presence in the UK would not contribute to the public good," the source said.

The newspaper's source explained that West had submitted an online application the day before, on April 6. He was supposed to come to the country for the first time in 11 years to participate in the London Wireless Festival in July.

The scandal broke out after West was announced as the headliner of the festival. British Health Minister Wes Streeting told Sky News that he was "shocked" by the decision to invite West to the performance, and called the decision of the organizers a mistake. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer on his page on the social network X (ex. Twitter) added that the rapper "should never have been invited to perform" on Wireless.

"This government firmly supports the Jewish community, and we will not stop in our struggle to confront and eradicate the poison of anti—Semitism," he wrote.

Kanye West has been accused of sympathizing with Nazism due to a series of public anti-Semitic statements, glorification of Adolf Hitler and the use of Nazi symbols in his work and business. The rapper has also repeatedly made aggressive statements against the Jewish people.

Last November, it was reported that West met with Israeli-Moroccan Orthodox Rabbi Yoshiyahu Pinto in New York to "make amends" to the Jewish people for his anti-Semitic remarks. The rapper, who realized his mistake, had planned a meeting with the rabbi in advance. Citing his problems, in particular his bipolar disorder, which forces him to take words and ideas "to the extreme," he asked Pinto for permission to visit him.

On July 2, Australian Immigration Minister Tony Burke announced the cancellation of Kanye West's visa for his track titled Heil Hitler. According to Burke, there were a lot of offensive words in this song, which attracted the attention of representatives of his department.
