Almost 70% of Russians are ready to host an android robot.
Almost 70% of Russian residents agree to install a humanoid robot in their home and delegate household tasks such as cooking and cleaning to it, a VTB survey prepared for the Data Fusion conference showed. The study was devoted to the technological awareness of Russians, including the level of understanding of big data, which underlies the work of androids.
According to the survey results, only a fifth of respondents know what big data is. At the same time, Russians accurately identified the main areas of their application: analysis of consumer behavior and personalization of services; scientific research and technology development; forecasting events; automation of business and public services.
At the same time, Russians are involved in the digital environment: 63% use search engines or artificial intelligence services on a daily basis. However, only 10% of respondents are ready to trust the financial advice of AI. This shows that users have a positive attitude towards technology, but are not ready to fully delegate decision-making to artificial intelligence, VTB noted.
"User behavior is formed faster than knowledge: first people start using services, and only then they try to figure out how they work. This approach creates a risk of manipulation and reduces the level of conscious technology consumption. As a bank, we are actively involved in improving financial literacy and popularizing technologies, including AI and big data. Thanks to the developed financial technology market, most Russians do not feel much fear of AI, despite the risks, and are even ready to integrate it into their daily lives," commented Vadim Kulik, Deputy President and Chairman of the VTB Management Board.
The survey was conducted in February 2026 in cities with a population of over 100,000 people. It was attended by 1.5 thousand respondents aged 18-65 years.
