Sales of Mazda cars in Russia increased almost 14 times in the quarter
In the first quarter of 2026, 6,802 new Mazda cars were registered in Russia. This is almost 14 times more (+1294%) than in the first quarter of last year, when 488 new cars of this Japanese brand were sold in the country. Sergey Tselikov, director of the Autostat analytical agency, told about this in his Telegram channel on April 7.
According to the expert, Mazda has long held the first place among non-Chinese foreign cars in the Russian market in terms of sales and only by the end of the quarter lost the leadership to the Toyota brand.
Tselikov noted that Mazda's only model, the CX—5 crossover, which accounted for more than 90% of registrations, provided such high results. In three months, 6,183 such vehicles were sold. Two more models, the CX-50 and CX-30 crossovers, accounted for 4.3% and 2.6%, respectively, in the brand's sales structure.
As the analyst pointed out, 96% of all new Mazda cars sold in Russia at the beginning of the year were produced at enterprises in China.
Earlier in the day, it was reported that 6,914 new Toyota vehicles were registered in Russia in the first quarter of 2026. This is more than twice as much (+111%) as in the first quarter of last year.
On April 2, it became known that Mazda Motor Rus, which was the official distributor of the Mazda brand in the Russian Federation, received revenue of 3.04 billion rubles from car sales by the end of 2025, which is 17 times more than a year earlier.
