In the Zaporizhia region, ambulances that went to help at school came under fire from the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was announced on April 7 by the governor of the region Evgeny Balitsky.

Balytsky reported on the same day that Ukrainian militants had attacked a school, injuring six people, five of them children. According to him, the incident occurred in the village of Velikaya Znamenka, Kamensk-Dneprovsky municipal district.
