Yoshihisa Kishimoto, the developer of River City and Double Dragon games, has died
Yoshihisa Kishimoto, the author of the video games River CIty (Kunio-kun) and Double Dragon, has died at the age of 65. This was announced by his son Ryubo Kishimoto.
"Yoshihisa Kishimoto, the director of the River City game. <...> Died on April 2, 2026," he wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
Yoshihisa Kishimoto was born on September 17, 1961. He started his career at Data East, a company that created games such as Renegade, Pro Soccer, and Corba Command. At the same time, the developer gained his fame already in the Technos Japan studio, where he participated in the River City and Double Dragon projects.
