Nikita Kucherov, the Russian forward of the Tampa Bay Lightning, reached the 400-goal mark in the National Hockey League (NHL) regular season on April 6.

He scored during the game against the Buffalo Sabres. Despite Kucherov's goal, his team lost to the opponent with a score of 2:4.

The Russian became the eighth Russian hockey player in the history of the league, who managed to overcome the threshold of 400 goals. Earlier, Alexander Ovechkin (928 goals), Evgeni Malkin (532), Sergey Fedorov (483), Alexander Mogilny (473), Ilya Kovalchuk (443), Pavel Bure (437) and Alexey Kovalev (430) achieved this result.

In the history of the Tampa Bay franchise, the Russian striker ranks second in the list of the best snipers. Canadian forward Steven Stamkos remains the club's leader with 555 accurate shots.

On April 5, the Washington Capitals beat the Buffalo Sabres in an NHL match, the meeting ended with a score of 6:2. Jacob Chikran, Dylan Strome, Connor McMichael, Alexey Protas, Ryan Leonard and Tom Wilson scored goals for the winners.
