Sheveluch volcano in Kamchatka spewed ash to a height of 10 km
Ash emission at 10 km above sea level was recorded on the Kamchatka volcano Sheveluch. This was announced on April 7 by the Kamchatka Volcanic Eruption Response Group (KVERT).
"The explosive-extrusion eruption of the volcano continues, satellite data has shown that the ash has reached 10 km above sea level, and the plume stretches for about 30 km north of the volcano," the scientists noted on the official website of KVERT.
It is noted that the eruption is accompanied by a high probability of new ash emissions, they can reach 12 km. The Kamchatka response team warned that low-flying aircraft could be affected by the volcano's activity level.
On March 13, the press service of the Kamchatka branch of the Federal Research Center "Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences" announced the eruption of the Sheveluch volcano. At that time, the height of the ash emission was up to 8 thousand meters above sea level.
