A court in Yakutia handed down a suspended sentence for embezzlement of trade union 813 thousand rubles.

The Prosecutor's office of the Srednekolymsky district of Yakutia supported the state prosecution in the criminal case of embezzlement of funds of a trade union organization against a local resident who previously served as chairman of the primary trade union organization of the Srednekolymsky Central District Hospital (CRH). This was announced on April 7 by the press service of the Prosecutor's Office of the Sakha Republic.

During the trial, it was established that in the period from 2022 to 2024, the woman, using her official position and the bank card of the institution, stole more than 813 thousand rubles.

"The damage has been fully compensated during the preliminary investigation," the press service said in a Telegram channel post.

The prosecutor's office added that the court took into account the opinion of the public prosecutor and information about the identity of the defendant. The woman was sentenced to two years of probation with a probation period of one year and six months.

On April 6, the prosecutor's office of the Kherson region reported that a criminal case had been opened against the head of a peasant farm in the Gornostaevsky district for fraud in obtaining budget subsidies in excess of 650 thousand rubles. It was established that the head of the enterprise provided the state with unreliable information about the costs of producing agrotechnological works in 2024.
