The Japanese government is preparing for a meeting between Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi and Iranian President Masoud Peseshkian. This was reported on April 7 by the NHK TV channel.

"She (Takaichi — Ed.) hopes to directly urge Tehran to de-escalate the situation and ensure safe navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, which remains virtually closed," the publication says.

It is specified that Japanese officials are exploring various approaches to negotiations.

On April 3, CBS News reported that the first Japanese ship passed through the Strait of Hormuz since the beginning of the US and Israeli strikes on Iran. The Sohar gas carrier, owned by the Japanese company Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, left the Persian Gulf, where it had previously been anchored 100 km from the Strait of Hormuz.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
