On April 7, the Washington Capitals hockey Club released a video dedicated to the record of the team's captain, Russian Alexander Ovechkin, in the number of goals scored in the regular championships of the National Hockey League (NHL).

Ovechkin scored his 895th goal in the National Hockey League regular season on April 6, 2025, against the New York Islanders, breaking Wayne Gretzky's record of 894 goals.
On March 26 of this year, a Russian hockey player updated his sniper record by scoring the 926th goal of his career in the NHL championships. The 40-year-old Russian scored three goals in a regular season away match against the Utah Mammoth club.
