HC Washington released a video in honor of Ovechkin's record for dropped goals.

On April 7, the Washington Capitals hockey Club released a video dedicated to the record of the team's captain, Russian Alexander Ovechkin, in the number of goals scored in the regular championships of the National Hockey League (NHL).

"The chase ended a year ago," reads a message in X (ex. Twitter).

Ovechkin scored his 895th goal in the National Hockey League regular season on April 6, 2025, against the New York Islanders, breaking Wayne Gretzky's record of 894 goals.
