Two Ukrainians were detained for sending packages with explosives in Romania
Romania's Directorate for Combating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) has detained two Ukrainian citizens on suspicion of organizing the dispatch of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) by courier service in 2025. This was announced on April 6 by the press service of the department.
"The evidence presented showed that on October 14, 2025, the defendants entered the territory of Romania in order to deliver two parcels with homemade incendiary devices, which they handed over to the headquarters of an international courier company the next day," the statement said.
It is noted that the IED could be activated remotely. The agency decided to send a petition to the court for the detention of two suspects aged 23 and 24. They are charged with attempting to commit illegal acts. According to the press service, the case was referred to the Bucharest Court of Appeal.
The Indian Express newspaper reported on March 17 that Indian law enforcement agencies had arrested six Ukrainian citizens and one US citizen on charges of conspiring to carry out terrorist activities against India. According to the newspaper, the defendants entered India on a valid visa, but traveled to the state of Mizoram without a mandatory restricted zone permit.

The incident occurred at about 10:30 a.m. local time (09:30 a.m. Moscow time) on March 8 in the vicinity of the settlement of Frateucius Veki in Suceava County. A criminal case has been opened into the fact of illegal crossing of the state border and control of an aircraft by a person who does not have documents confirming the right to control.
