Hero of the Russian Federation, corporal, military paramedic Lyudmila Bolilaya will take part in the preliminary voting of United Russia. If she wins, she plans to be elected from the Moscow Region to the State Duma in the elections to be held in September.

Lyudmila Bolilaya worked as an ambulance paramedic for more than 15 years, including during the coronavirus pandemic. In April 2023, the woman voluntarily signed a contract and went to the special military operation zone, where she served as a nurse in the 20th Guards Combined Arms Army of the Moscow Military District.

According to her, her family made a difficult decision to go on a special operation.

"I think each of you will understand that escorting a loved one into the unknown, into danger is very scary, very difficult. The long separation, the lack of communication, was, of course, not easy. But we did it," Lyudmila shared.

In early 2025, the unit in which Bolilaya served came under enemy rocket and artillery fire. Under heavy fire, the woman was helping the wounded and preparing them for evacuation. Covering the seriously wounded soldier, Lyudmila saved his life, but she herself received multiple serious wounds. After that, she was sent for long-term treatment, which she continues to this day.

In May of the same year, Russian President Vladimir Putin presented Lyudmila Boliloy with the Golden Star of the Hero of Russia. She became the first woman to be awarded this title since the beginning of her career.

"I am one of those people who consider it their duty to serve the Fatherland, to serve our people. I worked in an ambulance, helped the soldiers in their own defense, and I will continue my mission," she says.

On March 11, the United Russia party began accepting registration applications from candidates who intend to participate in the preliminary voting. It is noted that the registration of candidates will last until April 30. From the moment of nomination, each candidate can conduct campaigning work. Voters will be able to register from April 20 to May 29, and voting itself will take place from May 25 to May 31.

At the moment, about 600 candidates have submitted documents for participation in the primaries in the Moscow region.
