- Russians are showing interest in non-financial services inside banking applications
Users of modern banking applications expect advanced functionality from them. This is evidenced by the results of a VTB survey.
60% of Russians were ready to change banks for non-financial services. Respondents also stated that they are interested in the possibility of ordering goods and non-financial services through the bank's application, including food and ready meals (56%), booking hotels and tickets (49%), buying electronics and household appliances (46%), clothing and accessories 44%, cosmetics and household chemicals (39%).
89% of the respondents would like to see clear instructions inside the application to improve their status as a bank customer. The same number were in favor of all services within the online banking being grouped by subject for easy search.
"The functionality of modern banking applications is no longer limited to purely financial services and services. Users are getting used to the fact that online banking allows them to order not only a certificate and statement, but also groceries, electronics, or book a trip. Partnership offers within the financial ecosystem allow us to offer clients a wider range of services and cashback. They have great confidence in what can be bought through online banking, while receiving additional benefits from both the seller and the bank," commented Daniil Pokolodny, Senior Vice President of VTB and Head of the Partnerships Department.
VTB noted that the updated version of the bank's application already includes "services for life," emphasizing that they are also available to Postbank customers who joined VTB as part of the integration.
