The consumption of kefir, kvass and alcohol-containing sweets and, as a result, exceeding the permissible alcohol limit for the driver will not be a reason to review the penalties provided by law for drunk driving. This was recalled on April 6 by the Associate Professor of the Department of Administrative Law and Procedure at the O. E. Kutafin University (MGUA) Maxim Polyakov.

"There is a clear position in Russian judicial practice: the use of food products such as kefir, kvass and alcohol—containing sweets is not an excuse for fixing intoxication," he told TASS.
