Electricity was cut off throughout the city of Donetsk. This was reported on April 5 by a correspondent of Izvestia.

"The power engineers promptly started repairing the damage. Right now, backup power is being supplied, and electricity supply is gradually resuming in a number of areas," Andrei Chertkov, Chairman of the government of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), wrote on his Telegram channel.
