Italy's most important regional airports may face fuel restrictions and flight restrictions due to supply disruptions. This was reported by the Politico newspaper on April 5.

"Due to limited fuel supplies from Air BP Italia, refueling services for operators who have entered into contractual agreements with Air BP Italia may be limited," the publication quotes the notification.

These measures may affect airports in Bologna, Milan, Venice and Treviso. It is reported that priority will be given to sanitary and state flights, as well as flights lasting more than three hours. Other flights may face restrictions until at least April 9th.

As a result of fuel supply disruptions due to the war in the Middle East, shortages may affect other European airports. Experts call London Heathrow and other UK airports among the most vulnerable. They are already reporting disruptions related to fuel shortages.

Politico reported on April 2 that prices for aviation kerosene in Europe reached record levels of $1,9 thousand per 1 ton. The article also states that there is currently enough fuel in European air ports to support aircraft flights, but there may be shortages in the future.
