Lavrov commented on the alleged leak of his conversation with Szijjarto

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov commented on reports of an alleged leak of his conversation with Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto. He told about it on April 5 in an interview with Pavel Zarubin, a journalist of the Vesti news agency.

"I always assume that there are no secrets in this world. Therefore, we never discuss any taboo topics with our partners," the head of the diplomatic department stressed.

Lavrov added that the mentioned discussion of anti-Russian sanctions is not espionage, but the direct work of diplomats.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, in response to media reports about Szijjarto's "calls" to Lavrov, said on March 21 that Hungary's enemies had overplayed their imagination.

On March 4, Russian President Vladimir Putin hosted Szijjarto in the Kremlin during the visit of the Hungarian Foreign Minister to Moscow. The diplomat said that during the talks the sides discussed issues of energy security and the release of Hungarian prisoners of war. The meeting was also attended by Lavrov, Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov and First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov.
