Ushakov ridiculed the head of the Kallas European Diplomacy for a phrase calling for a drink

Russian Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov, commenting on the statements of the head of European diplomacy, Kai Kallas, recalled her "historical" phrase that "it's time to start drinking," and suggested that she follow this advice. On April 5, he informed Pavel Zarubin, a journalist at the Vesti news agency.

"I don't know. It seems to me that she uttered one phrase in her entire work history that I would say was interesting. She said something like, "It's time for a drink." It seems to me that it's time to do this. Well, us too, probably," Ushakov said.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov added that the European Union, apparently, enjoys the statements of the head of European diplomacy, Kai Kallas. In turn, he called Callas' statements shameful.

"I don't even think there's anything to comment on here. And the fact that this disgrace continues and none of her subordinates, none of the members of the European Union points to it, speaks to me only about one thing: they like to enjoy how she shows her knowledge in geography, politics and other areas," Lavrov said.

In an interview with RBC-Ukraine on April 1, Kallas stated that Russia had allegedly attacked at least 19 countries over the past 100 years, not counting African countries. At the same time, the politician did not specify which countries she was referring to.

On the same day, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that Callas' statements demonstrate gaps in the knowledge of the school curriculum. She also drew attention to the past experience of the head of the European Diplomacy in Estonia and recalled that earlier the local court had already ordered the politician to withdraw public statements that were found to be factually unreliable.
