The weather forecaster warned Muscovites about snow in the second half of next week
In the second half of the coming week, charges of snow and sleet are expected in Moscow, caused by a powerful Arctic invasion. This was announced on April 5 by Evgeny Tishkovets, a leading specialist at the Phobos Weather Center.
According to forecasters, precipitation in the form of rain will accompany Muscovites throughout the seven-day period, but by the middle of the week the weather pattern will change dramatically.
"The coming week will be marked by a powerful Arctic invasion, cold rains, at dusk with snow and the likelihood of a temporary unstable 1-2 cm high snow cover from Thursday to Tuesday," Tishkovets wrote on his Telegram channel.
The most difficult weather conditions will be Thursday and Friday. The wind is expected to increase and visibility will decrease these days.
«<...> When in the rear of the cyclone there are gusts of dank north wind, accompanied by a snowstorm with visibility up to 1-4 km, the speed will reach stormy 15 m/s, which will make it feel like winter has returned and it feels like 5<...>8 degrees below zero outside," the forecaster noted.
Mikhail Lyubov, associate professor at Nizhny Novgorod State University, a phenologist (a specialist who studies seasonal natural phenomena), spoke on the same day about the likelihood of snowfall in the Nizhny Novgorod region in April. According to him, temporary snow cover is possible in the northern regions of the Nizhny Novgorod region, but in most cases, according to the phenologist, snow will fall and melt immediately.
