"Sprouted oats, barley or wheat will do. They are soft, juicy and free of toxins. Young dandelion leaves are also useful after careful washing, which stimulate liver function," explained Frolenko.

In the meantime, the veterinarian does not recommend giving pets grass that grows in the city. It may contain salts, reagents, and heavy metals.

"In any case, do not use grass from the street. There is a risk of infection with helminths, injury to the palate, throat, esophagus. The ideal option is to grow herbs at home in a pot," the expert said.

If you want to pamper a pet, it is best, according to the expert, to choose dill, parsley, nettle leaves, mint and spinach, however, in small quantities. But onions and garlic, rhubarb, bulbous flowers and their leaves can cause irreparable harm to health.

Vera Zemskaya, head of the Krasnogvardeysky State Veterinary Clinic, spoke on March 23 about seasonal threats to pets. According to the expert, dangerous pathogens can be found under the snow in spring, which may cause pets to face an increased risk of infections, allergies and injuries.
