Men have a higher pension than women, as their insurance experience is on average almost six years longer. This was announced on April 5 by Alexander Safonov, professor at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation.

"Men receive a higher pension than women because of their long insurance record. On average, a man's work experience is about 42 years, and a woman's is 35.9 years," Safonov told TASS.

According to the expert, in 2026, men will retire at 64, and women at 59, while with the same salary, the difference in accumulated pension points can reach about 60-61.

Prior to that, on April 1, Safonov noted that a man who earns 150,000 rubles in 2026 can receive a pension of 67,000 rubles. The expert pointed out that in order to receive exactly this amount, the man had to work for 42 years.
