In the United States, more than 20 people were injured as a result of a car hitting a crowd during a parade in Louisiana dedicated to the celebration of the Lao New Year. This was reported on April 4 by The Guardian newspaper.

"According to a statement from the Iberia County Sheriff's Office, the driver, whose identity has not been disclosed, is in custody. According to the authorities, some of the injuries are believed to be serious," the publication says.
