Dmitriev called Germany a stupid prize in a stupid economic game
Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and special presidential envoy for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, on April 4 called Germany a "stupid prize" in a "stupid" economic game.
"Germany is becoming irrelevant to the global economy. If you play stupid games, you get stupid prizes," Dmitriev wrote on his page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
He commented on the publication about the projected decline in Germany's share of global GDP to 4% by 2030, which will be the lowest in the last half century.
On March 8, German journalist Roland Tichy called Germany the most greedy EU country amid rising fuel prices. According to him, the excise tax on petroleum products is 65 cents, the tax on CO2 emissions is 15 cents, then the levy on the oil reserve and 19% VAT (value added tax) are added.
