Zakharova criticized the awarding of the Order of Princess Olga to Callas
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova commented on Ukraine's awarding of the head of European diplomacy, Kaya Callas, with the Order of Princess Olga I degree, calling such a decision Satanism (the movement is recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation). She posted the corresponding post on April 4 in her Telegram channel.
"Callas, who supports the Kiev regime's policy of persecution of the church, receives the Order of St. Olga Equal-to-the-Apostles from the hands of non-Christians. Satanism as it is," the diplomat wrote.
The representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry pointed to the historical role of Princess Olga, stressing that she became the first ruler of Russia to convert to Christianity and lay the foundations for its spread. Zakharova also asked in the post how the policy of the European Union correlates with this legacy.
"Callas' services to Ukrainians are truly 'outstanding': calls to accelerate demobilization, the involvement of women in the Armed Forces, demands for the Kiev regime to abandon any attempts at peace, turning the country into an instrument of war 'to the last Ukrainian,'" Zakharova stressed.
In an interview with RBC-Ukraine on April 1, Kallas stated that Russia had allegedly attacked at least 19 countries over the past 100 years, not counting African countries. At the same time, the politician did not specify which countries she was referring to.
On the same day, Zakharova said that Callas' statements demonstrate gaps in the knowledge of the school curriculum. She also drew attention to the past experience of the head of the European Diplomacy in Estonia and recalled that earlier the local court had already ordered the politician to withdraw public statements that were found to be factually unreliable.
