The trading terminal at the Shalamche border crossing in the Iranian city of Khorramshahr has been attacked by the United States and Israel. This was reported on April 4 by the Iranian Mehr news agency.

"At 11 a.m. today, the commercial terminal at the Shalamche border crossing in Khorramshahr was attacked by American and Zionist opponents," the agency said in a statement.

CNN said on April 1 that Iran's continued control of the Strait of Hormuz after the end of the war would be regarded by the international community as a strategic failure by the United States. It is noted that in this scenario, Iran will try to "monetize its new position" by imposing duties on tankers traveling through the strait.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova noted at the same time that the United States could not challenge Iran's control over the Strait of Hormuz, even with all its military might. She noted that any initiatives on the regime of navigation in the Strait should be implemented only with the consent of the riparian countries.
