Ukraine's Ambassador to the North Atlantic Alliance, Alyona Getmanchuk, welcomed the prospect of the United States withdrawing from the military bloc, which was announced by US President Donald Trump. This was reported by Politico on April 3.

"Instead of talking about the disintegration of NATO, I would prefer to talk about rethinking the alliance," the diplomat said.

The article notes that if Washington leaves the bloc, Kiev may get a place as a partner of the bloc if membership remains impossible.

On April 1, Trump announced that he was seriously considering the US withdrawal from NATO after the alliance refused to help in the conflict with Iran. According to him, the North Atlantic Alliance has never influenced him.

Prior to that, on March 31, Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth announced that Trump would decide the future of NATO after the conflict in Iran was over. He noted that the United States faces obstacles and hesitations, even when they send requests to NATO members for the deployment of bases and the possibility of overflight.
