On April 4, Deputy Speaker of the State Duma Boris Chernyshov (LDPR) proposed providing an annual discount on gasoline to summer residents over the age of 60.
An appeal with a corresponding proposal to the head of the Ministry of Energy, Sergey Tsivilev, is at the disposal of RIA Novosti.
"It is proposed to consider the possibility of launching a seasonal social initiative "Gasoline for summer residents", which provides discounts of up to 10% on the purchase of motor fuel for citizens aged 60 years and older. The program is valid annually from April 15 to September 15," the document says.
According to the proposal, a discount will be provided for one vehicle registered to a pensioner upon presentation of a document on membership in a horticultural association or a country cooperative.
Chernyshov noted that for older citizens, trips to the country are important not only as a leisure activity, but also as a way of running a subsidiary farm, allowing them to save on groceries. He added that the initiative is planned to be implemented through the voluntary participation of fuel companies with possible incentives and the use of digital services to simplify the confirmation of the right to a discount.
"The proposed measure will provide tangible support to the citizens of the older generation, increase their mobility and quality of life," Chernyshov added.
Valery Goryukhanov, Member of the State Duma Committee on Transport and Development of Transport Infrastructure (United Russia) He reported on April 3 that the experience of some regions in banning the sale of gasoline to children could be extended to the whole of Russia. He noted that the measure is justified and correct, and now, together with experts, issues of its implementation at the federal level are being considered.
