Eight people died as a result of the collapse of an apartment building in Kabul province during a powerful earthquake. This was reported on April 3 by the Rasd News channel.
"Eight people were killed and a child was injured after a house collapsed after an earthquake," the TV channel said in a statement on Facebook (owned by Meta, recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation).
As TOLOnews Plus TV channel added, the earthquake was recorded at 20:45 local time (19:15 Moscow time). According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), the epicenter of the tremors was located 35 km south of Jarm county in Badakhshan province. The source of the disaster was at a depth of about 186 km.
On the same day, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) reported that an earthquake of magnitude 5.8 was recorded in Afghanistan. The epicenter of the disaster was located 149 km east of the city of Kunduz, which has a population of about 161 thousand people.
