Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in a conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, said that Turkey does not approve of attacks on Iran. This was announced on April 3 by the Directorate of Communications under the President of the Republic of Turkey.

"President [Erdogan] stated that the aggressive policy of the Netanyahu government in the entire region must be stopped, and that Israel's actions to undermine the status of Jerusalem are unacceptable," the agency wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

The Turkish president also said he was closely following all developments in Syria. He noted that any step to strengthen stability in the country meets the common interests of Russia and Turkey.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on April 2 that a number of states are currently searching for a formula that would allow a settlement to be reached in Iran. Despite this, he added, the situation continues to be controversial due to Washington's statements.

Putin, in turn, said on the same day that Russia was ready to do everything to normalize the situation in the Middle East.
