The Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade is not changing its export plans to priority countries amid the conflict in the Middle East, and working with key partners remains a priority. This was announced on April 3 by Roman Chekushov, State Secretary and Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, at the International Transport and Logistics Forum.

"We do not set any changes to the target countries [for exports]. We still have a longer-term planning period, so supplies along the North—South corridor and work with our key partners in the Middle East remain an absolute priority," TASS quoted Chekushov as saying.

At the same time, he acknowledged that geopolitical factors affect economic and trade ties, including logistics. According to him, due to the lack of official customs statistics, it is too early to draw conclusions. At the same time, imports of critically important products and goods remained at a satisfactory level.

"There is also a tendency to gradually reduce parallel imports, but this is due to the opening of new production facilities and increased supplies of similar products from friendly countries. Therefore, we do not see any changes here," the deputy minister added.

Kirill Dmitriev, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for Investment and Economic Cooperation with Foreign Countries and head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, said on March 22 that Russia's opponents, as the world enters an era of resource scarcity and the destruction of global supply chains, will value its role as a global supplier of commodities and essential products even more.
