Football player Fyodor Smolov said that unknown people, disguised as a representative of the victim, extorted $1 million from him to resolve the conflict after a fight in a "Coffee mania". This was announced on April 3 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the courtroom.

At the same time, Smolov himself evaded the question of whether the former father-in-law of football player Alexander Kokorin was involved in this.

"I would not like to answer this question, but you can draw your own conclusions," the athlete clarified.

In addition, Smolov added that after the conflict, he visited the institution only once as part of checking the testimony on the spot.

Earlier that day, the court dismissed a criminal case against Smolov initiated after a fight in a cafe in connection with the reconciliation of the parties. The football player's lawyer Varvara Knutova also said that Smolov had entered into a settlement agreement with the victim and paid the victim 4 million rubles.

The incident occurred on May 28, 2025 at an establishment on Bolshaya Nikitskaya Street in Moscow. A video has spread online showing Smolov getting into an altercation with two visitors, and then attacking them with his fists. Later, in September of the same year, a criminal case was opened in accordance with Part 1 of Article 112 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
