Vucic predicted a global rise in food prices
Humanity is teetering on the edge of a precipice, because after the rise in prices of fertilizers and plastic products, the world is waiting for an increase in food prices, Serbian leader Aleksandar Vucic said on April 3 following talks with representatives of the Serbian parliamentary parties.
"Humanity is on the edge of a precipice and we need serious solutions, we must try to take a responsible position in such a situation and do the best for our country and people," the Evening News newspaper quoted him as saying.
According to Vucic's forecast, the situation on the planet will be very difficult and we need to try to do everything in the power of the authorities so that the states of the Balkan region and Europe do not experience it so acutely.
"Today there is a terrible rise in the price of fertilizers, soon there will be a shortage, a sharp rise in the price of plastics and products made from it due to the closed Strait of Hormuz, and soon there will be a significant rise in the price of products around the world," the politician said.
On March 30, Vucic expressed serious concern about a possible US ground military operation in Iran, saying it would provoke a profound energy crisis. According to the Serbian leader, the world has already faced a sharp rise in energy prices, and the current situation is leading the world, especially Europe, to a "precipice."
