Egypt supports the position on the need to eliminate the root causes of the crisis in Ukraine. This was stated on April 3 by Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Ata at a press conference following talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

"We discussed the Ukrainian crisis and confirmed that Egypt supports a diplomatic settlement of the conflict. We fully support the holding of trilateral negotiations and support the resolution of the root causes of the crisis," he said.

The diplomat also stressed that Egypt is ready to support all necessary efforts to preserve regional and international stability.
