Rostec denied production downtime at AvtoVAZ
The information that AvtoVAZ allegedly plans to put production on hold due to "overcrowded warehouses" is not true. Rostec's press service announced this on April 3 in its Telegram channel, stating that the information published by a number of media outlets "is unfair."
The state corporation drew attention to the fact that from May 4 to May 13, the automobile plant will host scheduled production modernization events. Employees who are not involved in these processes will be on corporate leave, with vacation pay. The team will go to work as usual with full pay — there will be no downtime and no wage cuts, the message says.
Rostec said that an appeal to law enforcement agencies will be prepared in the near future with a request to check online publications that have published incorrect information about AvtoVAZ's activities "for the likelihood of deliberate destructive actions aimed at destabilizing society."
Information about downtime due to "overcrowded warehouses" on this day was also denied by the press service of the Togliatti auto giant.
Earlier that day, AvtoVAZ announced a large-scale modernization of production lines and technological equipment in May, related to preparations for the release of the Lada Azimut crossover, which is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2026.
