Zenit fans did not approve banners for the match with Spartak
On April 3, the Zenit St. Petersburg Fans' association Landskrona announced that the Russian Football Union (RFU) had rejected two proposed banner options for the Russian Cup match against Spartak Moscow.
The fan association explained that they wanted to beat the expression "Evil Empire", which some have associated with Zenit in recent years, but were refused.
"During the coordination, it was clearly explained to us that we should not pay attention to the machinations of ill—wishers, because, in fact, Zenit is the best thing in Russian football," the association wrote on the Telegram channel.
The fans decided to agree with the opinion of the RFU and changed the sketch to "Empire of Goodness". However, this image was also rejected.
On March 5, the CSKA football club launched an internal investigation after an incident with Krasnodar fans who accused the Moscow club of racism during a Russian Football Cup match. It is noted that the investigation involved cameras from the match, private footage of fans, as well as media representatives and video footage from the stands of the last meeting.
