The expert called the new Volga C50 a competitor to the Toyota Camry
The new Volga C50 business sedan will be popular in taxi companies, where the Volga C50 will replace the Toyota Camry and Kia K5. The model will also go to state parks, where the Volga will return as an executive car. Alexander Vinogradov, a columnist for Za Rulem magazine, shared this opinion on April 3.
According to Vinogradov, the Volga C50 will be a good alternative for those private owners who used to drive a Mazda 6. The target audience will include people who do not recognize crossovers and are looking for a large and well-driving sedan.
"I want to remind you that at one time, a lot of Toyota Camry owners switched to them from Volga cars. Now, I think, the reverse process may happen," Vinogradov predicts in an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
According to his estimates, about 40% of private owners and 60% of corporate customers will be in the audience of Volga C50 buyers.
The revived Volga brand introduced the new C50 sedan in Russia on April 3. The Volga C50 will be equipped with a two—liter engine in two boost versions - 150 or 200 hp. The engine is paired with a 7-speed robotic transmission. The length of the car is 4825 mm, the width is 1880 mm, and the wheelbase is 2800 mm. The sedan will go on sale along with the K50 crossover in the summer of 2026.
