During talks with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Ata on April 3, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov jokingly drew attention to the translator's work.

After the opening remarks by the Russian minister, the Egyptian diplomat began his speech. The translator, conveying his speech, addressed Lavrov by first name and patronymic, although the patronymic did not sound in the original Arabic.

"He did not say Viktorovich," Lavrov jokingly noted, such an edit caused laughter from both delegations of the countries.

On April 2, Russian President Vladimir Putin invited Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to visit Russia during talks with the Egyptian Foreign Minister.
