A special fire protection regime has started operating in the Pskov region. There is limited access to forests on the territory.

According to the head of the municipality, Natalia Fedorova, the weather was dry and windy, and the soil dried out. This creates favorable conditions for the occurrence of grass fires, the Pskov News feed writes. Fires are recorded on the territory of the district on a daily basis.

The main cause of fires is the careless and irresponsible handling of fire. There are also cases of deliberate arson of dry grass.

The fire season in the Pskov region began on March 27. Bonfires and open-fire work in forests and adjacent territories are prohibited in the Pskov Region.

On April 1, a special fire protection regime began operating in Buryatia.
