Seven suspects of kidnapping Russians and extortion have been detained in Georgia.

Seven people suspected of taking Russian citizens hostage and extorting money from them have been detained in Georgia. This was reported by the Exclusive News edition with reference to the Interior Ministry of the country.

According to the investigation, the intruders tricked their way into the house late at night under the guise of checking a gas leak. Threatening their lives, they stole $2 thousand, mobile phones and laptops from the victims, after which they beat them and demanded an additional $300 thousand.
