Summary of the special operation in Ukraine for the week

A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. In addition, six group strikes were carried out during the week.

"Units of the Zapad group of forces have completed the liberation of the Luhansk People's Republic. In addition, over the past week, control has been established over the settlements of Brusovka in the Donetsk People's Republic, as well as Kovsharovka and Novoosinovo in the Kharkiv region. The manpower and equipment of five mechanized, airmobile, assault brigades, a security brigade of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, two air defense brigades and a National Guard brigade were defeated. The enemy's losses in this area amounted to over 1,250 military personnel, two tanks, 16 armored combat vehicles and 152 vehicles," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

During the week, as a result of decisive actions by units of the North group of forces, control was established over the settlements of Malaya Korchakovka, Sumy region, and Verkhnyaya Pisarevka, Kharkiv region. In total, the enemy lost more than 1,535 military personnel, eight armored combat vehicles, 68 vehicles and nine field artillery pieces in the area of responsibility of the North group of forces.

The units of the "Southern" group of Forces have improved their position along the front line. During the week, more than 1,155 servicemen, two tanks, 22 armored combat vehicles, 93 vehicles and 25 field artillery guns were lost in the area of responsibility of the "Southern" Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Over the past week, units of the Vostok group of forces have advanced into the depths of the enemy's defenses and liberated the settlements of Lugovskoye and Boykovo in the Zaporizhia region. The losses of the Ukrainian armed formations in the area of responsibility of the Vostok group of forces amounted to more than 1,960 military personnel, 12 armored combat vehicles, 54 vehicles and seven artillery pieces.

Over the past week, units of the Dnepr group of forces have improved their tactical situation. In total, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost up to 395 military personnel, five armored combat vehicles, 94 vehicles and a field artillery piece in this area.

57 guided aerial bombs, three US-made HIMARS multiple rocket launchers, four Flamingo long-range cruise missiles, three Neptune long-range guided missiles and 2,354 aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down by air defense systems. The forces of the Black Sea Fleet destroyed a crewless boat and an autonomous underwater vehicle of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In total, since the beginning of the special military operation, 671 aircraft, 284 helicopters, 130,717 unmanned aerial vehicles, 653 anti-aircraft missile systems, 28,664 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,694 multiple rocket launchers, 34,255 field artillery guns and mortars, 58,505 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.
