Sobyanin noted the role of renovation in job creation
Since the beginning of the renovation program in Moscow, more than 1.8 thousand non-residential buildings have been equipped. Thus, more than 15 thousand jobs have been organized, it is emphasized in the channel of Sergei Sobyanin's personal blog in the MAX messenger.
"The renovation program is not just about comfortable apartments for a million Muscovites. This is the creation of a full—fledged living environment within walking distance," Sobyanin stressed.
The mayor of the capital noted that in new residential complexes, the first floors are allocated for social and commercial infrastructure: cafes, shops, pharmacies, gyms, dry cleaners and much more. At the same time, if earlier such decisions concerned only the central streets, now it is becoming a single urban standard.
The total area of equipped non-residential premises on the first floors of new buildings is almost 190 thousand square meters. m. Of these, more than 1.1 thousand are in use, according to the mayor's blog.
About 35% of non-residential premises are given over to retail facilities, about 20% are occupied by order pick-up points. More than 10% is accounted for by household services. A lot of the premises are used for educational centers, children's clubs and other institutions that become centers of attraction for local residents.
Examples include a foreign language center for children and adults in a new building on Vernadsky Avenue, a swimming pool for infants and early swims on Rechnikov Street, a digital arts center on Sunny Alley, where children are taught design and working with neural networks, as well as a dance school on Turistskaya Street.
Until 2032, it is planned to organize about 8 thousand non-residential premises on the first floors of new buildings as part of the renovation program. This will create more than 200,000 new jobs, primarily for people who will live in or near the renovated neighborhoods, Sobyanin stressed.
