The FNPR assessed the possible impact of the six-day period on demographics
The potential transition of the Russian Federation to a six-day working week will lead to catastrophic consequences for demographics. Nina Kuzmina, Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia (FNPR) and rector of the Academy of Labor and Social Relations, warned about this on April 3.
"The introduction of a six—day period will have disastrous consequences for demographics, which is especially critical against the background of existing challenges: high workload and fatigue reduce the desire to start a family and have children," he told TASS.
