- Kim Jong-un visited the memorial of the exploits of the participants of the operation in the Kursk region
North Korean President Kim Jong-un visited the Military Exploits Memorial Museum under construction, dedicated to the operation to liberate the border areas of the Kursk region. This was reported on April 3 by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
It is noted that at the moment, construction work at the facility has been completed "on the verge of 97% of the total volume."
"Comrade Kim Jong-un got acquainted with the finishing work of the museum's construction, the presentation and arrangement of data on military exploits, the installation of sculptures and symbolic monuments, and gave a high assessment," the publication says.
During the visit, the head of state was accompanied by senior staff of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK Central Committee), as well as senior staff in the design and creative fields.
Kim Jong-un noted that after the completion of the work, the memorial complex will become a monument of the era and a "temple of patriotic education." A funeral ceremony for the remains of fallen soldiers will be held there in mid-April.
The opening ceremony of the complex will be timed to coincide with the anniversary of the completion of the operation to liberate the Kursk region.
On March 29, Kim Jong-un also attended tests to assess the capabilities of the new tank. The combat vehicle is capable of resisting almost all existing anti-tank weapons. Kim Jong-un said that there is no comparable armored vehicle in the world.
Also on March 25, Kim Jong-un said that Pyongyang's choice to always be with Moscow is unchanged. In his message, he thanked the Russian President for his kind words and recalled the close interstate cooperation between the parties.
