People's Artist of Russia, ballerina Svetlana Zakharova has been appointed rector of the Moscow State Academy of Choreography (MGAKH). This was announced on March 3 by the artist herself.

She noted that she has been fulfilling the relevant duties since 2024, but she has only been appointed to the post now.

"I have been acting rector of the Academy since 2024 and have now been appointed rector," she told RIA Novosti.
